“Coming home to find a weighty bottle shaped package, I eagerly unwrapped it expecting to find a fine scotch. I was only slightly disappointed to discover that it was a very weighty award from ALDinHE! In all seriousness though, it’s gratifying to be recognised by one’s peers, and to have made a contribution to dialogue and debate within the community. A big thank you to the society members and my co-author, and lead of the paper, Steve White.”
Reviewer of the Year Award
Our winner of the Reviewer of the Year Award for 2025: Kathleen Nthakomwa-Cassidy

Kathleen Nthakomwa-Cassidy
In 2022, we were thrilled to launch the annual JLDHE Reviewer of the Year Awards to recognise and celebrate excellence among our peer reviewers.
Every year we select a reviewer who made exceptionally helpful contributions to the Journal in terms of the quantity, quality, and timeliness of their reviews, as well as their generosity in sharing expertise, their scholarly rigour, and their kindness.
While honouring only one colleague in this way, we also want to acknowledge – as we do in our editorials – that many other reviewers regularly provide outstanding support for the Journal. We are immensely grateful for their hard work, for their time, and for helping us to foster this unique community of Learning Developers committed to excellence in research.
